Tiny houses and the cottage have their own capacity and facilities as described on the relevant page of our website. The number of guests may not exceed the stated capacity of each unit unless agreed with us in advance.
Free Wi-Fi is provided where available. As we are located in a cold-water area without geothermal supply, hot water is heated by electricity; we kindly ask all guests to use hot water responsibly. 7. Camping
The campsite is open seasonally, approximately from May to October, and is closed during winter. Camping is charged per person per night, plus the applicable local lodging tax per tent/unit.
- Camping price per person / night: Current pricing is published on our website, www.studlagil.is
- Electricity for tents/caravans is available; charging of electric cars is not permitted.
- The Camping Card (Útilegukortið) is accepted, but the local lodging tax must still be paid to our staff.
- Showers cost 400 ISK, to help us conserve electrically heated water.

Opening hours of our food and café outlet and the farmers' market are seasonal and may change without notice. Products sold at the market are supplied by local producers. Please inform our staff of any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering.
9. House Rules and Guest Conduct
- Quiet hours: 22.30-07.30
- Smoking: No smoking indoors or on the terraces
- Pets: not allowed
- Guests are responsible for keeping their unit and the site clean and for respecting other guests and staff.
We may refuse service or ask a guest to leave, without refund, in cases of unlawful, dangerous, abusive or seriously disruptive behaviour.
10. Damage and Liability of the Guest
You are responsible for any loss or damage you or members of your party cause to the property, its facilities or equipment during your stay, and we may charge the reasonable cost of repair or replacement. As no deposit is taken at booking, any such cost will be charged to the payment method used for your booking, or invoiced to you after your stay.
11. Safety and Nature
Stuðlagil Canyon and the surrounding highland are natural areas. Trails, steps and riverbanks can be steep, slippery and weather-dependent. You enter and use the canyon, hiking paths and outdoor areas at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and that of children in your care. We strongly recommend suitable footwear and clothing and checking weather and road conditions before travelling.
12. Our Liability
We take reasonable care to provide our services as described. To the extent permitted by Icelandic law, we are not liable for personal injury, loss or damage arising from natural conditions, weather, road closures, force majeure, or from a guest's failure to follow safety guidance. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural events, volcanic or seismic activity, road closures, power or water failures, strikes or government action. Where possible we will offer a rescheduling or refund in line with our cancellation policy.
14. Privacy
Personal data provided when booking is processed to manage your reservation and stay in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking applies to that booking. The current version is always available on our website.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Icelandic courts, with Héraðsdóm Austurlands as the venue of first instance, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
17. Contact
