Camping site

The camp site is located at the Studlagil Canyon where you can see the canyon. The spacious camping site for you to stay, explore the canyon and other interesting places at the area.

The camp site provides for excellent day tours, the site is close to the highland and National Park,  Askja, Mt. Snæfell, Laugavellir, and Karanjukar dam or to the fjords (Vopnafjordur, Seyðisfjordur, Borgarfjordur, and more). All these places are within the reach of a day-tour. Nearest town is Egilsstaðir (70 km.). There are many stores and services in Egilsstaðir and a lot of attraction in the area with natural beauty all around.

Campsite is open between Mai and October. Closed over wintertime.

Service

The camp site has a toilet, shower and area for washing dishes. From June 2025 we offer an electricity to plug tents/caravans. Note that we can not offer electricity for charge electricity cars. 

At the camp site area we have a food trailer with various food and the opening hour are 9-18 during the summer. At the same area we have a Farmers Market with various handcraft from local people. The opening hours are 9-17 during the summer. 

Camping Card (Útilegukortið) is avilable at the Food trailer. The Camping Card is accepted but the lodge tax need to be paid. Contact our staff for paying the tax. 

The price for one night is 2.250 p.p + lodging tax 400 kr. The lodging tax is pr. unit (car, tent or caravan).
